About

The Alton Area Optimist Club has proudly served the community since March 11th, 1946 with many great projects and activities in support of the youth in our community.  Our Club is part of a larger network of clubs in Illinois, United States, Canada and across the globe, that is Optimist International.  While we are an international organization, The Alton Area Optimists time, talents, and resources are returned 100% to OUR community.

Meetings

We know that your time is a limited commodity, therefore, we only meet one time a month (6pm every 2nd Tuesday of the month at Johnson’s Corner) for about an hour to discuss projects, eat some dinner, and socialize.  Based on your level of excitement to serve, we have ample opportunities for you!  That be said, we only ask that you participate in the club activities that you can and are able.  No pressure to do everything or anything!   We do however expect you to come with a SMILE and have FUN!

If you have any interest in joining our club stop by a meeting or you can send us an email at altononoptimist@gmail.com , or take a look at the Optimist International website.  We would love to hear from you.

Dues

Our annual dues are $85(this may go up a little) .  This covers the cost of insurance, international and district dues and other administrative fees.  We think it’s not too bad for a full year of friends, fellowship and enrichment!!  We have optional payment plans for those that prefer a little flexibility!
